It is a strong, small French Bulldog with large, round-tipped, erect and bat-like ears. Its square flat head is not as large and showy as the English Bulldog. The forehead is round. Shoulder height is not important as long as the general structure of the dog is balanced. Height at the withers is generally the same as the length from shoulder to tail. The shoulder part is wider than the tail part. Its soft, short and easy-to-care fur coat can be tiger patterned, yellow, white or a combination of these colors. Its skin is soft and loose, feeling pleasant to the touch. Its large protruding eyes are dark colored and the teeth are closed so that the lower jaw overlaps the upper jaw. The tail is either straight or corkscrew-like.
